Country assistance strategy 2005-2009- CAS reflects the Government’s priorities over the medium term which is: (i) to improve efficiency in the use of public resources with a focus on improving the quality and quantity of basic services; and (ii) to improve the environment for private sector-led investment in the non-oil sectors of the economy.

European Commission*

Country Strategy Paper for Gabon (2008-2013) EC assistance will concentrate mainly on basic infrastructure especially roads (regular road maintenance and improving road networks) and urban reconstruction (improving health and sanitation in urban areas) as well as education and training. The aim is to improve governance in education provide better primary school teaching (through teacher training and improving teachers' status) and better technical and vocational instruction.
