World Bank*

Samoa - Country Partnership Strategy for the period FY2012 - FY2016 This Country Partnership Strategy represents the first individual country strategy prepared for Samoa. Within this World Bank Group engagement with Samoa will focus on supporting Government efforts to: (i) rebuild macro-economic resilience and encouraging inclusive growth; (ii) generate opportunities from global and regional integration; and (iii) strengthen resilience against natural disasters and climate change.

European Commission*

The Country Strategy Paper for Samoa (2008-2013) presents the strategic framework for the co-operation of the European Commission (EC) with Samoa under the 10th European Development Fund (EDF). EC assistance will focus on improving public health through a coherent water sector policy support programme that will be delivered through sector budget support. The support will extend access to safe water supply and basic sanitation as well as strengthen sustainable water resource management. Additional EC assistance, for example, will be provided for a new microfinance programme to support initiatives of non-state actors (NSAs). The multi-annual indicative programme for Samoa under the 10th EDF allocates €31.3 million to address these priorities.
